Francisco
Soccer

First of all, I would like to thank the Jackson and Cameron Foundation for their support. My name is Francisco; I am 17 years old now and a Senior in High School. When I was 8 years old, my father lost his battle with lymphoma. Lymphoma is a kind of cancer that attacks the white blood cells in your body which makes it hard to recover from simple sicknesses like the flu for example. Around the time I lost my dad I started to play soccer, and I would say it helped me a lot with my grief. As a kid and even up till now I have never really liked to talk about my feelings, and you could say soccer was my therapy. Even now, I don’t know how to explain it. When I am on the field it feels like anything bothering me in life just disappears and as I started to grow, I started to get more competitive and started playing club soccer, but as I kept growing older, soccer started to get more expensive.
Thanks to the foundation I have been able to afford to keep playing with their financial support. My family would not be able to do it without them, from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU for everything you have done not only for my family but everyone in our community!
