Bella is 10 years old and lives in Oregon. She has 6 siblings. She began taking an acrobatics dance class when she was 6 years old at a local dance studio. Her teacher noticed how quickly she picked up the skills and advanced in her abilities. She was a natural and her teacher reached out to the studio owner to recommend her for additional classes. The studio owner immediately recognized what a special dancer Bella was. She was invited to dance competitively when she was in 2nd grade.
Bella has continued to advance in her dance skills and is now competing on a team for her 4th season. Bella has incredible technique and stage presence. Her dance teacher says, “Bella has done nothing but impress me since I started working with her on our performance team. She is kind to everyone all the time. She is a wonderful leader and role model to the younger dancers. She works as hard as she can. She is hard-working, respectful, kind, and dedicated. It would not surprise me if Bella became a professional dancer or dance teacher. Dance seems to be a big part of who she is as a person and it’s definitely one of the things she is good at!”

Hi, my name is Teo, I am about to turn 10 years old in October and I am in fourth grade, but sadly when I was 1 year old, I lost my dad to lymphoma. I don’t know much about the illness, but I do know it attacks your white blood cells. When I was 5 I started playing soccer because my brother played soccer, too. At first, I was a little scared because I didn’t know if I was going to be any good, but now I can’t imagine what I would be doing without it. I play goalie most of the time on my team and even though I don’t have any memories I can remember with my dad it feels like he is in goal with me. It is almost like he is helping me stop all the shots from going in. Now, I am getting ready to play my first year of State League soccer with my team, but I would be lying if I said I would be here without the Jackson and Cameron Foundation. My older brother also plays State League and almost always has to go out of state for tournaments and now that I am also starting with all that my mom was super worried about how she was going to pay for everything and my brother even thought about quitting soccer so I could play, but with help from the Jackson and Cameron Foundation not only can my mom afford to keep me on my team she can afford to keep my brother playing too!

First of all, I would like to thank the Jackson and Cameron Foundation for their support. My name is Francisco; I am 17 years old now and a Senior in High School. When I was 8 years old, my father lost his battle with lymphoma. Lymphoma is a kind of cancer that attacks the white blood cells in your body which makes it hard to recover from simple sicknesses like the flu for example. Around the time I lost my dad I started to play soccer, and I would say it helped me a lot with my grief. As a kid and even up till now I have never really liked to talk about my feelings, and you could say soccer was my therapy. Even now, I don’t know how to explain it. When I am on the field it feels like anything bothering me in life just disappears and as I started to grow, I started to get more competitive and started playing club soccer, but as I kept growing older, soccer started to get more expensive.
